I'd stopped in Cannes before on a cruise but never really had a chance to visit since we went straight to Monte Carlo on the train. I had wanted to try and visit Nice and a few other towns while we were here this time but after getting to the beach, relaxation mode set in and I decided just enjoying a slow, easy weekend basking in the sunshine and warmth (not totally warm but way better than Germany this time of year). I mean how can you turn down mimosas on the beach in February!? Sign me up ;)
Yacht life
Cannes is best known for the Cannes Film festival that happens every May. It's a very ritzy town with every high end shopping store right on the main boulevard. My friends got upgraded to a super fancy hotel and the cocktails at the bar were all over 30 euro! No thanks haha.
Celebrity hand prints outline the town as well as the famous red carpet.
LOOK AT THESE BLACK TRUFFLES!! I mean good gosh- it was so luxurious with the steak, arugula and parmesan.... I hope to try and recreate this if I can find the truffle!
And no trip to France would be complete without some foie gras....
Cannes is about an hour from Nice and we got a quick, direct flight from Munich. I'll definitely be back to explore this area more!
