May 5-7 Opening of Spa Season in Karlovy Vary Czech
It is an important annual event during which the Karlovy Vary spa season is officially inaugurated. Not missing is the parade led by the founder of the town, the King Charles IV riding a horse, as well as the blessing of the mineral springs.
During the opening weekend, you can visit the crafts market, various concerts and other cultural performances and social events. The festivities take place in many parts of the spa. Also Porcelin festival going on.
May 7 Food Festival Karlovy Vary, Czech
astronomy meeting FOOD FESTIVAL KARLOVY VARY will not be missing during this year´s season opening in Karlovy Vary. The best regional restaurants are invited to present their culinary art there. The visitors can look forward to the show of cooks and barkeepers on the stage. The first May Saturday afternoon before the Thermal hotel will belong also to children. In a cooking school they will prepare selected delicacies. A traditional running “Run, waiter, run”will start at the end of the event and the winner will get surely good prize.
May 6- Blaue Nacht
Each year in May, culture comes to Nuremberg. Museums, theatres and other cultural venues are open until the small hours of the morning. Come and explore the Old Town, listen to music and performances on the streets of the city centre and marvel at art and light installations. Blaue Nacht is Germany’s largest night-time cultural event. It has a different theme each year.
May 11- 27 Prague Beer Festival
The annual Czech Beer Festival in Prague is the largest gastronomic event in the country, with seating for 4,000 visitors on benches inside huge marquees. There are 150 varieties of Czech beer to sample, sourced from international, regional breweries and microbreweries. There is Czech food to taste and live bands to entertain. The event takes place at Letna, which is a large park outside the city centre.

Genuine conviviality and Bavarian hospitality can be found the Regensburger Dult, a popular fair with Bavarian music, food and drinks, which takes place twice a year.
May 12-14 Opening of Spa season Marianski Czech
This event has a long tradition in town. The blessing of the springs and opening of the season takes place annually in the second weekend in May. The celebration includes a festive concert by the West Bohemia Symphony Orchestra, a festive holy mass in the Virgin Mary Assumption Church, a procession, blessing of the springs and a varied entertainment program.
May 12-13 Big flea market Nuremberg
Germany’s largest flea market is held on the second weekend of May and September in the Nuremberg Old Town. Around 4000 stallholders sell both high-class antiques and all kinds of bits and bobs.
May 26-28 Prague Food festival
The annual Prague Food Festival celebrates the culinary skills of the top restaurant chefs in the Czech Republic. The festival takes place in a huge outdoor setting, in the grounds of Prague Castle. Wander around the stalls and sample local and international dishes, along with wines, sparking wines and Czech beers. There is also a children’s area with entertainment and cooking instruction.

June 1-12 Erlangen Bergkirchweih
Franconia's largest and most beautiful twelve day-folk festival, which has been celebrated around Pentecost at the Erlanger “Burgberg” for the last 260 years. The caves below the “Burgberg”, where beer was once stored, are of particular interest. Today, they serve primarily to facilitate the dispensing operation during the Bergkirchweih.

June 14-18 Franconian Beer Fest
The Franconian Beer Festival takes place in the wonderful atmosphere of the Nuremberg castle moat. Forty local breweries serve more than 100 delicious types of beer. An interesting and diverse musical program by local artists, a wide range of culinary specialties and a lot of fun things for kids to do makes this festival a treat for the whole family.

Every year on July 2nd thousands of people make the pilgrimage from near and far to the Mariahilfberg. Many first attend the sermon and then celebrate the „Amberg Mountain Festival“ with beer and grilled sausages, cheese and spitzl, radishes and cabbage.
