Spain

Feliz Navidad en Espana!

1/13/2010

For Christmas break I decided to take a trip to Spain with a tour group. It was a great time- filled with long bus rides, great sangria and tapas, beautiful sites, sometimes sunny/warm weather and a lot of new friends. I've traveled before at Christmas but I was always with friends so this was definitely a first to be with just a bunch of strangers.

We started out the trip with a few days in Madrid. It was nice but just kind of like any other big city. We didn't get to see that much because a lot of things were closed for Christmas Eve and day.

Madrid:

Yummy- churros and thick chocolate

Toledo:

I really liked this town but we didn't stay very long since we were driving to Cordoba. It was a beautiful place!

Cordoba:

This was a great day! The Mezquita in Cordoba is one of the most beautiful things I've seen. It used to be a mosque so it had lots of Moorish architecture but later it was changed to a Catholic church so it also has Gothic architecture inside.

I loved all the orange trees in the southern area of Spain.
