This weekend I took a trip to Colmar, France and stopped over in the Black Forest ( Schwarzwald in German) for some sightseeing and lunch.  I had hoped to do a little hiking but there was still a lot of snow, muddy paths and a frozen lake.  The town of Titisee was a really pretty resort town which would be awesome when the weather gets warmer.
The Black Forest area is known for a lot of great things: Black forest cake, cuckoo clocks, black forest ham and schnapps.  I tried some cake made with some cherry schnapps which was fabulous- also the first dessert I've eaten in 2 months so I really loved it!! I bought some ham to try at home but I just can't stand the cuckoo clocks.  The artistry and intricacy of detail is amazing but they are so expensive and don't really go with my decor :)
